This article explains how to correctly assemble the parts on the lid of a SmartPlus 57050 pressure cooker, using the numbered components shown in the product diagram.

Follow the steps in the order listed to ensure the lid works safely and correctly.
Before You Start
- Make sure the pressure cooker is cool and not pressurised.
- Assemble the lid on a flat, clean surface.
- Only use approved Smartplus 57050 replacement parts.
1. Fit the Red Visual Pressure Indicator (3)
- Turn the lid handle upside down.
- Place the red visual pressure indicator (3) into the handle upside down, ensuring it sits correctly in its recess.
2. Install the Square Nuts and Secure the Handle
- With the handle still upside down, insert the square nuts (for lid handle) into the slots provided.
- Position the handle onto the lid while upside down.
- Insert and tighten the lid handle screws until the handle is firmly secured.
3. Flip the Lid Upright
- Turn the lid over so it is in the upright position, with the outside of the lid facing up.
4. Fit the Metal Hold‑Down Strip
- Place the metal hold‑down strip into its correct position on the lid.
- Make sure it sits inside firmly and aligns with the internal mechanism.
5. Insert the Vent Tube
- Insert the vent tube into the centre hole of the lid from the top.
6. Secure the Vent Tube with Nut and Washer
- Carefully flip the lid upside down.
- Fit the washer, then the nut, onto the vent tube.
- Tighten securely, ensuring the vent tube stays centered and upright.
7. Fit the Rubber Part of the Fusible Safety Plug (2)
- Insert the rubber part of the fusible safety plug (2) into its designated opening in the lid.
8. Insert the Metal Part of the Fusible Safety Plug (2)
- Push the metal part of the fusible safety plug (2) into the centre of the rubber safety plug, making sure it is fully seated.
9. Fit the Secondary Safety Device (7)
- Install the secondary safety device (7) into its assigned hole in the lid.
- Ensure it sits correctly and is not obstructed.
10. Fit the Pressure Regulator / Weight (1)
- Flip the lid back to the upright position.
- Push the pressure regulator / weight (1) onto the top of the vent tube until it sits securely.
Final Checks Before Use
- The visual pressure indicator (3) should move freely.
- The pressure regulator / weight (1) should lift off easily.
- All parts must be secure, with no looseness or obstruction.
⚠️ If any safety component does not fit correctly or does not move freely, do not use the pressure cooker.
